Update - Charges Laid - Pedestrian Injured In Hit & Run - 1900 Blk 8th St. E

Following an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Traffic Unit, a man is facing charges after striking a pedestrian on May 18, 2025. Further investigation determined the victim was struck by a City of Saskatoon Transit bus.

A 42-year-old man is charged with Fail to Stop after an Accident.

The Saskatoon Police Service is requesting public assistance after a hit and run involving a pedestrian over the weekend.

On Sunday May 18, 2025 at around 7:00 p.m., police were called to the 1900 block of 8th Street East to attend to an injured person. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 49-year-old man had been hit by a vehicle. The vehicle had fled the scene. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. SPS Collision Analysts attended to the scene and are continuing to investigate.

Businesses in the area are asked to check video survelliance for any possible footage that may have been captured.
