A 42 year old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges following an incident where two SPS Bike Unit officers were assaulted.

The officers were patrolling the Meewasin Trail in the 100 block of Spadina Crescent East, at approximately 9:30 a.m., August 16, 2025 when they encountered a male riding toward them on an electric dirt bike. The male began accelerating toward the officers when he saw them, hitting them both, before coming off of his electric bike. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a taser, a baton and 5.3 grams of methamphetamine. The officers were not injured during the incident. The suspect suffered a minor injury.

The man is now facing charges of Assault PO (x2), Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace (x2) and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (2). He was also wanted on outstanding warrants at the time.
