One man is facing a number of weapons-related charges following an incident in traffic on Friday.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., January 24, 2025, Patrol officers were dispatched to a weapons call at 22nd Street West and Diefenbaker Drive. It was reported to Police that a man was observed exiting a GMC Acadia holding a knife before running after another individual. The suspect is said to have returned to the vehicle before reaching the individual; both parties fled the scene prior to Police arrival.

A traffic stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle in the 300 block of Fairmont Drive. One of the passengers matching the suspect description was taken into custody. He provided a false name to Police and was found in possession of modified brass knuckles. He was also found to be breaching a number of court imposed conditions.

A 21-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with five weapons-related offences along with Obstruction.
