A man is charged after attempting to flee from police in a stolen vehicle, last night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., August 19, 2025, in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South, police observed a vehicle known to be stolen and involved in a robbery the previous day. Prior to police activating their emergency equipment, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The driver then disobeyed a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle. He then attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody.

A 52-year-old man is charged with Evade Police, Dangerous Driving, Hit and Run, Driving while Prohibited, and Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. (Court Info # 991313142)
