Saskatoon Police are investigating a pair of robberies involving bear spray on the weekend.

At approximately 12:00 a.m., January 25, 2025, Patrol members were dispatched to an attempted robbery at a liquor store in the 900 block of 22nd Street West. It was reported that a male suspect entered the store and attempted to rob a customer while threatening them with bear spray. Upon Police arrival, the suspect was observed fleeing on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. The bear spray was located nearby and seized by SPS.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., January 26, 2025, Patrol officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of Kensington Boulevard for an armed robbery. It was reported that three masked males entered the store and threatened an employee with bear spray. The employee was unharmed upon Police arrival, but the suspects stole various vape products before fleeing in a vehicle.
