One man was transported to hospital following a stabbing early this morning.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on August 27, 2025, police were called to the 1500 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from a stab wound; he was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of what was believed to be a non-life-threatening injury. Further investigation found that the victim had been walking in the area when he was approached by an unknown man who punched and stabbed him in an attempt to steal his property; the suspect then fled the area.

Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
