Five people were arrested following an assault yesterday.
At around 2:15 p.m. on September 3, 2025, police were called to the 500 block of Avenue W South for a report of a possible weapon involved in an altercation. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been sitting in a vehicle when he was approached by a woman who began banging on the door; the man exited the vehicle and a verbal confrontation ensued. Four men then joined the woman and converged on the male victim, knocked him to the ground, and began assaulting him before stealing his property and fleeing in different directions. Responding officers located all five suspects in the nearby vicinity and arrested them without incident; a search of their persons found one bladed weapon and methamphetamine. The male victim was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result, four men, age 26, 40, and two age 39, and a 33-year-old woman have been charged with robbery. The 40-year-old man was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, being at large on a release order, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
