The Saskatoon Police Service has completed a second retail blitz operation.

The blitz took place over four dates in August, in the 300 and 400 blocks of Confederation Drive, Midtown Mall, and between the 1300 block of 8th Street and Arlington Avenue.

Over the course of the project, police arrested 52 individuals, laid 64 charges, executed nine warrants, and over $6000 worth of stolen property was recovered.

The Retail Blitz was a collaborative effort between officers of the Community Mobilization, School Resource, Alternative Response, and General Investigation Units.

The goal is to successfully apprehend violent and repeat offenders to reduce the risk of harm to the public and store employees/security, while also mitigating financial damage incurred by businesses.
