A youth male was transported to hospital early this morning following an incident the evening prior.

At around 1:30 a.m. on September 25, 2025, police were called to a residence for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old male youth with an injury to his neck. Further investigation found that the youth had been walking in the area of Rusholme Road and Avenue W North at around 8:30 p.m. on September 24, 2025 when he was approached by a group of youth; a verbal and physical struggle ensued and a bb gun was discharged striking the victim in the neck. The victim then fled home and later contacted police. The suspects and victim were not believed to be known to one another. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

Police are continuing to investigate.
