Police are investigating following a shooting early yesterday morning.

At approximately 2:15 a.m. on September 28, 2025, members of the Bike Unit were patrolling downtown when they observed a man laying on the sidewalk with a commotion occurring around him. Upon stopping, officers found that the man had a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to hospital for treatment of what was later confirmed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

A specific scene or suspect were not located; however, the shooting is believed to have happened in the area of 2nd Avenue South and 21st Street East. Police are continuing to investigate.
