A youth male was arrested following a stabbing on the weekend.

At around 12:30 a.m. on October 4, 2025, police were called to the 200 block of 2nd Avenue South for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from several stab wounds; he was transported to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Further investigation determined that an altercation had occurred between the suspect and victim when the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. Officers located the suspect in the 100 block of 4th Avenue South a short time later and effected his arrest; he was found to be in possession of a folding knife.

As a result, the 16-year-old male has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon to commit an offence, and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon.
