A man was arrested and charged following an incident involving bear spray at a mall yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., October 14, 2025, patrol officers responded to a report that a male and female had stolen an item at a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South. When confronted, the male brandished bear spray. When police arrived, security directed officers to the suspect's location where he was taken into custody without incident. Upon his arrest, a can of bear spray was located in his waistband.

A 22-year-old male is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
