A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and faces firearms charges following a weapons offence involving a firearm on a city bus on Monday.

On March 23, 2026 at approximately 5:50 p.m., police responded to a weapons call on a city bus travelling westbound on 22nd Street West. Initial information outlined a male on the bus had a firearm.

Officers quickly located the bus in the 1600 block of 22nd Street West where a male matching the suspect description was arrested without incident. A search of the area resulted in police locating a firearm underneath a seat near where the arrest occurred.

The 16-year-old male is now facing multiple firearms related charges and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 24, 2026.
