A man is facing charges in connection to a historical sexual assault.

In September 2001, police responded to a residence in the 800 block of Avenue E North after a female youth reported being the victim of a sexual assault. A sexual assault kit was collected at the time of the incident, and in March 2026, Saskatoon Police were notified that a DNA match had been identified.

Further investigation located the 52-year-old suspect, and on March 24, 2026, he was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Wearing a Disguise during Commission of an Offence, Uttering Threats to Cause Death, and Mischief. He is appearing in Provincial Court this morning. (Court Info # 991333402)
