Police are investigating following an assault and robbery yesterday.

At around 5:30 p.m. on March 26, 2026, police were called to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South for a report of an assault and robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located the 67-year-old male victim waiting in the security office. Through investigation, officers determined that the victim had been sitting at a table in the mall when he was approached by an unknown man who struck him in the face and stole his shopping bag. The suspect then fled the area. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

Members of Patrol are continuing to investigate.
