The Major Crime Section is investigating following the city’s third homicide.

On April 3, 2026, police and fire were called to a residential structure fire in the 400 block of Avenue I South. During firefighting operations, firefighters removed a 61-year-old female from the structure. She was declared deceased at the scene and, through investigation, has been determined to be the victim of homicide.

Members of the Major Crime Section are continuing to investigate.
