A 41 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges following a robbery and assault.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., April 10, 2026, Police were called to the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North. A 61 year old man reported that he had been waiting at a bus stop when he was approached by an unknown man. The man asked to look at his phone but refused to return it to the victim. An altercation began and the suspect pulled out a machete and struck the victim before fleeing on foot.

Officers were able to locate the man nearby at 1st Avenue and 23rd Street.

He is now charged with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Breach of Probation.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
