One person has been arrested in connection to the city’s fifth homicide that occurred in April.
Following continued investigation by members of the Major Crime Section, a 15-year-old individual was arrested on August 5, 2026 in connection to a homicide that occurred on the evening of April 15, 2026; they have been charged with Second Degree Murder as a result.

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is investigating the death that occurred in the 1100 block of Avenue W North on April 15, 2026 as the city's fifth homicide.
Police are investigating following a suspicious death last night.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on April 15, 2026, officers responded to a report of an injured and unresponsive person in an apartment unit in the 1100 block of Avenue W North. Life-saving measures were attempted; however, the person was declared deceased by medical personnel.
Members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Sections were called to the scene and are continuing to investigate. An update will be provided when new information is known.
