UPDATE - Traffic Restrictions Lifted - Motor Vehicle Collision - Idylwyld Drive North

Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate the two-vehicle collision from earlier today.

At around 8:10 a.m. on May 5, 2026, police were called to the area of Idylwyld Drive near 58th Street West after it was reported that a Dodge Durango was driving erratically. Updates from the Corman Park Police Service outlined the vehicle was travelling on Highway 11 into Saskatoon.

While responding, further updates outlined that the Durango had collided with a Ford Transit van south of the highway 16 overpass on Idylwyld Drive. The van subsequently caught fire and the driver, an 82-year-old male, was transported to hospital with critical injuries.

The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Prince Albert, SK.

Three people have been taken into custody. Charges are pending and will be provided when available.

The Corman Park Police Service notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) and SIRT will be investigating. Any further questions in relation to this incident can be directed to SIRT.

Traffic Restrictions have been lifted in the northbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive near 58th Street and motorists are no longer asked to avoid the area.

Police are currently on scene of a motor vehicle collision on Idylwyld Drive near 60th Street East.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. on May 5, 2026, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Idylwyld Drive near 60th Street East.

Traffic restrictions are currently in place and all northbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive are currently closed at the Highway 16 flyover. As the investigation continues, motorists are asked to please use an alternate route.
