One man was arrested following an assault on a police officer yesterday evening.

At around 7:30 p.m. on July 22, 2026, a member of the Bike Unit patrolling in the downtown area observed a man believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant interfering with a nearby business. Upon stopping and speaking with the man, he immediately became verbally and physically confrontational towards police; following a brief struggle, additional officers arrived on scene and the man was taken into custody.

As a result, the 54-year-old man has been charged with Assaulting a Police Officer.
