One man was arrested following a domestic assault yesterday.

At around 9:30 p.m. on February 5, 2026, police received a report of a domestic assault that had just occurred at an apartment in the 500 block of Avenue X South. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man known to the victim had attended her apartment unit and entered through a window before assaulting, choking, and threatening her. He then fled the area in a vehicle. The vehicle was later located in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North and a traffic stop was conducted. The man was arrested without incident and, following a search of the vehicle, officers located suspected cocaine, bear spray, and a large sum of cash.

As a result, the 21-year-old man has been charged with break and enter, assault, assault by choking, uttering threats to cause death, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5000, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon.
