One man was arrested following a report of a domestic assault yesterday.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on February 19, 2026, police were called to an address in the 100 block of Avenue U South for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. Upon arrival, officers knocked at the door; however, it was not immediately being answered. A short time later, the door was unlocked and opened by a three-year-old boy. Concerned for his safety, officers stepped into the entry and observed a man and an injured woman. Further investigation determined that the man had physically and sexually assaulted the 22-year-old woman; at one point threatening her with a firearm. It was later learned that the man also physically assaulted the boy. He was arrested without further incident.

As a result, the 29-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault, uttering threats to cause death, unlawful confinement, and several firearms-related offences.
