Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit have arrested a man in connection to the deployment of bear spray into a crowd at the Exhibition Grandstand on August 13, 2022.
Following investigation, a 26-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with assault with a weapon (x13).
Police wish to thank members of the public for their assistance in this investigation.

The Saskatoon Police Service Serious Assault Unit is continuing to investigate bear spray incidents at the Saskatoon Exhibition.
The SPS wants to thank the public for their assistance so far, but investigators are now looking for details specific to one of the incidents.
Investigators are requesting anyone with video evidence or information from Saturday August 13th at around 9:15 p.m. This bear spray incident occurred at the Exhibition Grandstands during a concert.
Investigators are requesting anyone with video evidence of the bear spray incidents to email police.info@police.saskatoon.sk.ca or call 306-975-8300 for arrangements to be made to obtain the video.
Anyone who was victim or witness to the incidents or otherwise has information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300. Alternatively, a Supplemental Report can be made online to document the information with reference to file/report number 22-95937.

The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating at least three incidents in which bear spray was deployed in and around the Saskatoon Ex.
The most recent incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m., August 14, 2022 in a crowded public space during a concert SPS members were already on-duty at the site and responded. Numerous people suffered minor injuries consistent with the effects of bear spray and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
