Homicide - 3000 Block Clarence Avenue South

Investigators from the Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section have charged a 19-year-old man with the first-degree murder of 30-year-old Angose Standingwater. A 21-year-old woman has also been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Both persons were arrested in Saskatoon on August 1, 2023 without incident and are expected to appear in court today, August 2, 2023.

Saskatoon Police are releasing video surveillance in the homicide of 30-year-old Angose Standingwater.

The footage shows the white Dodge Caravan leaving a business parking lot in the 3000 block of Clarence Avenue South at approximately 10:50 p.m., May 20, 2023, and travelling towards the intersection of Brand Road and Clarence Avenue. The footage can be viewed on the SPS Facebook page, here.

Major Crime investigators believe that some motorists in the area at the time may have witnessed the vehicle, and are looking to speak with them.

The vehicle of interest being sought by investigators in relation to a homicide investigation has been located. 

Police wish to thank members of the public and media for their attention to the matter.

Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate the homicide of 30-year-old Angose Standingwater.

Major Crime Investigators are requesting assistance from the public in locating a 2017 white Dodge Caravan SE with Saskatchewan license plate 838 MXZ. The vehicle is described as being in good condition and has a beaded lanyard hanging from the rear view mirror. A photo depicting the likeness of the vehicle is attached.

Next of kin have been notified and the victim has been identified as Angose Standingwater.

On May 20, 2023 at 10:57 PM police attended to a business in the 3000 block of Clarence Avenue South for a report of a male suffering from a serious injury.

Upon arrival, responding officers located a 30 year old male with life threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts by the Saskatoon Fire Department and Medavie Health Services West, he died.

Patrol officers as well as members of the Forensic Identification Section and the Major Crime Section are investigating.
